Some bearing companies direct customers to pack bearings by adding bearing grease-

This action displaces old used grease into the wheel hub possibly effecting brake function,

wiring, and has occasionally heated so extremely that it has caught on fire!

We recommend replacing old bearings, seals, cotter pins, and used bearing grease

when repacking your trailer bearings. $18.50 3,500lb Axles and $25 for 5,000lb to 8,000lb Axles.

Friction wear damage will result if your trailer receiver ball in not sufficiently lubricated.

Pac West Trailers recommends applying lubricant to the ball

and installing a $5 cover to maintain lubrication and minimize friction damage.
